Kenon Team's Visit to Bundaberg Sugar Mills

Last month, we had the privilege of being invited to visit the Bundaberg Sugar Cane Mills – the very place where we source our sugarcane bagasse to produce our substrate bags.

We were warmly welcomed and personally shown around by the General Manager, Lincoln. It was truly an honour to witness the entire process at this historic mill, which has been operating for over 140 years. From the moment the freshly harvested sugarcanes are dropped off, through each stage of processing, we were fascinated by the transformation that ultimately leaves behind the sugarcane bagasse – a valuable by-product that we repurpose at our Bundaberg facility to create high-quality mushroom growing bags.
