Welcoming Future Leaders - Fellows From Hong Kong Metropolitan University to Our Shiitake Farm
Share
On 11 December 2025, we were honoured to host the fellows from Hong Kong Metropolitan University for a guided tour of our shiitake farm in Logan. The visit formed part of an academic excursion, thoughtfully organised by the team at Griffith University, and provided a valuable opportunity for knowledge exchange between industry and education.
During the tour, the fellows were introduced to our end-to-end mushroom growing process – from cultivation techniques and quality control to harvesting and distribution. More importantly, we shared the philosophy behind our business: creating produce that delivers exceptional flavour while remaining deeply committed to environmental responsibility.
Our sustainable growing methods are at the core of what we do. By prioritising resource efficiency, waste reduction, and environmentally conscious practices, we aim to demonstrate that agriculture can be both commercially viable and planet-friendly. It was encouraging to engage in thoughtful discussions with the fellows, who showed strong interest in how sustainability can be practically implemented within the agri-food industry.
These exchanges are always two-way. While we share our real-world experience, we also gain fresh perspectives from students and professionals who bring global insights, academic knowledge, and curiosity about the future of food systems. Conversations throughout the day touched on sustainability, innovation, supply chains, and the evolving role of agriculture in addressing global challenges.
We host this type of educational excursion several times each year, and it is something our organisation truly values. Supporting education and opening our doors to students, academics, and future leaders is our way of giving back to the community and contributing to the development of a more informed and sustainable industry.
We extend our sincere thanks to Hong Kong Metropolitan University for their visit, and to Griffith University for making this meaningful experience possible. We look forward to welcoming more educational groups in the future and continuing to share our journey!
